Hot Dago These are originally from Saint Paul, Minnesota and pretty much a lost recipe, took me a while to track down and find to the original. This is the sauce, Dago burger and the hot sausage recipes. Lots of ingredients, but fairly easy to make. You start by making the hot sausage. Hot Dago patties 2 pounds ground beef 2 ground Italian pork hot sausage 1/3 cup bread crumbs 2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon pepper 1/4 cup parmesan cheese Keiser rolls or a loaf of french bread cut into sections 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese 2 bell peppers, cut and sauteed in butter (optional) Sauce 2 tablespoons of olive oil 1 cup of mushrooms sliced 1 cup onions chopped 1 tablespoon of garlic minced 1 cup of water 29 oz of crushed tomatoes 6 oz tomato paste 2 teaspoons basil ½ teaspoon oregano 1 cup pitted chopped olives ¼ teaspoon black pepper 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard ½ chopped fresh parsley 3 oz chopped sliced pepperoni Italian Hot Sausage 2 pounds ground...
