Pullman Bread
Pullman Bread
This is very easy bread to make since it is done in a large covered Pullman bread pan.
Ingredients
1 1/2 cups water (about 110 degrees)
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
4 cups of flour
1 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons dry whole milk
2 tablespoons of melted butter
Directions
1. Put flour, melted butter, dry milk, salt and 1 tablespoon of sugar in a mixing bowl and mix on low for 1 minute.
2. Using a measuring cup, pour water in with 1 tablespoon of sugar, add yeast and gently stir with fork till dissolved and let sit for 10 minutes.
3. Pour water yeast mix into the flour and mix till you get a elastic smooth ball.
4. Place dough ball in a covered bowl in a warm place and let rise to 2 hours.
5. Dump directly into Pullman pan, pressing down and pushing on the corners until evenly filled.
6. Put cover on Pullman pan and rise for another 2 hours.
7. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
8. Put Pullman pan in oven and bake for 35 more minutes.
9. Pull out of oven, let cool for 5 minutes and dump onto a cooling rack and cover.
10. Let cool for 20 minutes and then serve.
